General Care:

    • Do not eat any food or drinks near the Chromebook.
    • Removable storage devices must be inserted carefully into the Chromebook.
    • Do not place your Chromebook on uneven surfaces where it might be subject to an accidental fall.
    • Drops from heights can damage or loosen cables from within the Chromebook, causing the keyboard or battery to malfunction.
    • Avoid placing heavy objects on the top of the Chromebook when it is closed. The screen is sensitive to excessive pressure and will crack.
    • Excessive heat or cold weather over 100 degrees or under 32 degrees will damage the motherboard. Do NOT leave your Chromebook in a car!
    • Please do not remove the CCA decal label or the classroom label. Instead, let HELPDESK know you need this label replaced ASAP.
    • Report damage, loss, or theft immediately. The device will be locked & secured then replaced.

Parents only please, email onlinehelpdesk@cherrycreekacademy.org for technical help.

    Carrying Chromebooks:

    • Transport Chromebooks with care. Keep your Chromebook in a flat case when not in use. Even when the Chromebook is in your backpack, it should be inside the flat case.
    • Chromebook lids should permanently be closed and tightly secured when moving. Do not carry your Chromebook while the screen is open.
    • Never move a Chromebook by lifting it from the screen. Instead, support a Chromebook from its bottom.

    Screen Care:

    • Chromebooks in backpacks should avoid sharp objects and pressure on the screen; avoid throwing your gear on the floor.
    • Do not lean or put pressure on the top of the Chromebook when it is closed.
    • Do not poke/write on the screen with anything that will mark or scratch the screen surface. Blurring or cracks can happen if you touch the screen too hard with objects.
    • Do not place anything on the keyboard before closing the lid (e.g., pens, pencils, or disks); this WILL break the screen.

A/C Power Adapter &  Charging Your Chromebook:

    • The port on the power adapter is fragile – insert and remove with care every time.
    • Don’t carry your Chromebook around with the power adapter plugged in.
    • Wrap your power adapter up with velcro or a rubber band, so the cords don’t become tangled/knotted.
    • Unplug your Chromebook when the battery is 100%
    • The Chromebooks hold a charge for between 6-8 hours.
    • Charge your Chromebook each night; this prepares you for the following school day.

    Keeping Your Chromebook Clean:

    • Never use any product containing ammonia or other strong solvents to clean your Chromebook. Lens & Screen cleaning wipes recommended.
    • Gently brush away dust and dirt with an air duster or screen cleaning wipe.
    • Do NOT spray your Chromebook directly with Windex/household cleaner. Instead, spray and lightly moistened the microfiber cloth with an electronic solution and then wipe the Chromebook.
    • Extremely wet wipes/microfiber cloth will leak and cause damage to the Chromebook.
