Our efforts

Cherry Creek Academy(CCA) is devoted to upholding high expectations and values. We allocate resources, establish roles, and manage vendor relationships to ensure digital compliance under HB21-1110 and meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This fosters an inclusive digital environment supporting the educational success of all students and staff.

Our efforts are part of a meaningful change to make all State of Colorado services inclusive and accessible, meeting statutory requirements. We welcome comments on improving technology's accessibility for users with disabilities and requests for accommodations. CCA is committed to ensuring its website is accessible to individuals with disabilities according to the Americans with Disabilities Act and welcomes feedback from the public. Remediation Process

• Use of tools like Allyant and Grackle to scan and remediate non-compliant PDFs, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides and then allocate the time for remediation

Website Compliance Plan

• Allyant to scan the Website to ensure compliance

• Allyant to scan the Website and provide feedback from manual testing

• CCA  to allocate and assign all  issues

• Allyant to provide a certificate of conformance to CCA

• CCA will resolve PDF issues as needed

• Finalsite will review our websites' currently compliant status in biweekly meetings

• Finalsite is exploring their support for new legal requirements

• Finalsite has integrated the translation functionality button onto our site

Application Compliance

• CCA created a Grievance form on the Accessibility Page to allow those with compliance issues to contact us formally

• CCA to use Allyant Hub for overall website and to vet for accessibility

• CCA  to work with vendors on the Accessibility of third-party Applications.

• Vendors to be in compliance or CCA will follow the Undue Burden Documentation Template (in process, publish date TBD)

Staff Training

• CCA to push out staff-required training 

• CCA to incorporate all staff training into new hire onboarding

• CCA  to provide annual refresher training to all staff

• CCA is working with HB21-1110 Coalition to support HB21-1110 & HB 24-1454 compliance requirements

• Implement comprehensive training sessions hosted on PowerSchool, with ongoing integration into staff development programs with the new Director or Professional learning and Student Support

• Staff involved in creating website content attend regular updates and strategic meetings to track progress, such as the HB21-1110 Updates and Issues with the HB21-1110 Planning Coalition Monthly Meeting

Documents and other Digital Resource Compliance

• CCA to reach out to Grackle Addon to check for accessibility in all published documents in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

• CCA to use Canva Accessibility checker for all created Canva documents and resources

• CCA to use accessibility checker in Adobe Acrobat Professional

• CCA provided helpful links and resources for staff members

Ongoing Support and Oversight

• CCA to request HB21-1110 Budget from the Parent Board

  • Waiting on resources and training needed to stay in compliance

• CCA currently uses several vendors and third-party applications created and maintained by vendors and third-party providers.

• These providers build their own content that CCA does not govern, and due to contract and financial constraints, we cannot currently switch providers.

• CCA will work with these providers to make sure they are moving toward accessibility compliance.

• As contracts and obligations end, CCA will assess if another provider can provide the same level of service while also meeting accessibility compliance.
