Welcome from the CCA PTO!

On behalf of the PTO Executive Committee, we warmly welcome you to the CCA Community. The CCA Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a group of parents dedicated to enhancing your student’s experience and well-being by collaborating to embody our school mission statement:

“Motivated students and responsible parents working together with exemplary teachers to provide excellent education.”

We strive to build community by engaging and empowering our parents with many opportunities to be involved. In addition, the PTO contributes to the school in various ways. Below you will find information about the Parent Teacher Organization or PTO at Cherry Creek Academy.

About Us

The CCA Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a group of parents dedicated to enhancing your student's experience and wellbeing by collaborating to embody in our school mission statement:

"Motivated students and responsible parents working together with exemplary teachers for excellent education."

We strive to build community by engaging and empowering our parents with many opportunities to be involved. In addition, the PTO contributes to the school in various ways. Past school year contributions include procuring tablets, a 3D printer, e-readers, water bottle filler stations, and a new scoreboard. Last year we assisted with supplying mobile hotspots and many other activities to keep our community together while we navigated pandemic restrictions.

How Decisions are Made

Each parent or guardian of a CCA student is automatically a voting PTO member. We conduct our General Assembly Meetings in person the third Friday of each month from 8:15 am – 9:00 am. We encourage all parents to attend and become actively involved. At each meeting, we have CCA teacher representation, a presentation from our administrators, a report from the Student Council, and updates from our CCA Parent Board.

Our first General Assembly PTO Meeting will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, at 8:15 AM

We hope you can attend and learn more about our PTO. If you cannot attend these meetings but want to get involved, please see below for the various available volunteer opportunities.

Where the Funds Come From

Our Giving Circle and fundraisers will provide access to the following events: Fall Carnival, School Assemblies, Spring Dance, Multicultural Festival, and Pastries with Parents New Family Playdates, New Family Lunch, among other PTO events. PTO Fundraisers allow us to provide items that are beyond the CCA annual budget such as student agendas, new student welcome activities, classroom stipends for teachers, and appreciation events for teachers, staff, and administration.

Partnerships with community organizations are the last avenue for our budget. These companies provide a % back to our school for just doing what you normally do- buying groceries, buying gift (Script) cards, collecting Box Tops, shopping at King Soopers, and more!

Methods of Communication

The PTO is committed to effective communications with the CCA community. All upcoming PTO meetings, events, and volunteer opportunities will be listed and communicated through the weekly CCA newsletter The Eagle, posted on CCA’s website and CCA Facebook page. If you have questions or concerns regarding the PTO or PTO sponsored events please reach out to PTO@CherryCreekAcademy.org and we’ll make sure your questions are directed to the correct person.

King Soopers Loyalty Program	1	The PTO's King Soopers fundraiser is changing. Our community will no longer have to use the gift cards for their purchases. Please log into your King Soopers account. Once logged into your King Soopers account, click on King Soopers Community Rewards under the Save tab. You will then search for Cherry Creek Academy either by name or GW800 and then click Enroll. Once enrolled, CCA's PTO will earn a percentage of your sales every time you use your loyalty card/number. For more information, please click here.
Box Tops	1	Box Tops are digital now! Download the app and link to CCA's page to scan receipts for easy rewards that go directly to the PTO.
Restaurant Nights	1	Keep an eye on The Eagle and the calendar to see which local restaurants are donating a portion of proceeds back to the CCA PTO on a specific night. You can log one volunteer hour by participating in these fundraisers.

Events:

These annual events cannot take place without volunteers. Sign-ups are sent in The Eagle and often contain opportunities during the day, after school, or on occasional weekends. More events are always being added so make sure to read The Eagle or check the master calendar as dates may change.

PTO Sponsored Activities and Fundraisers

Each school year, the CCA PTO sponsors many events, assemblies, fundraisers, and activities that enrich the CCA school community in a variety of ways. You can learn more about PTO Sponsored annual activities below.

Box Tops: The PTO collects Box Tops throughout the school year. Please verify the expiration date, cut along dotted line, and turn in Box Tops to the purple box in the lobby near lost and found. You can earn even more cash through the Box Tops for Education® Bonus App. For more information, please click here.

CCA Auction: Great way to donate and participate in our biggest fundraiser!
CCA Carnival: Each year the CCA PTO transforms our school into a fun-filled carnival experience for students and their families. Information about the annual carnival is posted in The Eagle Newsletter. There are numerous volunteer opportunities during the carnival that are also posted in The Eagle Newsletter.

Spring Dance (K-4): Each year the PTO transforms CCA into a majestic ball for the K - 4 students. Information about this event and volunteer opportunities are announced in The Eagle Newsletter.

Multicultural Festival: Each Spring the CCA PTO organizes a culturally diverse and rich festival that highlights the many different heritages that compose the amazing CCA community. Foods, performances, and activities from all over the world are showcased. Information about this event and volunteer opportunities are announced in The Eagle Newsletter.

New Family Playdates: Each summer the PTO welcomes new families and organizes events and playdates to help new students and their families familiarize themselves with the CCA community and make new friends.

New Family Welcome lunch: The PTO organizes a welcome breakfast for new families to socialize and make friends over a delicious meal! Remember breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Original Art Works Fundraiser: This fundraiser helps transform student artwork into wonderful keepsakes and awesome household items. A percentage of sales goes to the CCA PTO. Information about this fundraiser is sent home with student's and announced in The Eagle Newsletter.
Pastries for Parents: The PTO hosts a fun and breakfast for students and their families before and during the PTO meeting. Please join us in the CCA cafeteria for a sweet breakfast treat. Information, dates and RSVP links are provided in The Eagle Newsletter.
School Supply Fundraiser: The CCA PTO organizes with School Tool Box each year, CCA teachers, and administration to provide parents a convenient and cost effective way to purchase all of their student's supplies. This takes all the guesswork out of back to school supply shopping and a percentage goes to the CCA PTO! Ordering information begins in April and is announced in The Eagle Newsletter .

Script Card Fundraiser: Each December, CCA's PTO organizes a script card fundraiser where parents can purchase a variety of gift cards for all of their holiday shopping needs!

Staff Thanksgiving Baskets: Each November the CCA PTO collects items from CCA families and builds beautiful baskets that are given to CCA staff members to show how thankful our community is. Information on requested items as well as volunteer opportunities are posted in The Eagle Newsletter .

Teacher Appreciation Week: During Teacher Appreciation Week, CCA's PTO organizes meals and other treats to show our staff how grateful our community is to them.

Used Uniform Sales: In the Fall and Spring CCA PTO organizes and facilitates a used uniform sale where parents can get great deals on uniforms and accessories. Information about this event and volunteer opportunities are announced in The Eagle Newsletter .
