Hello! My name is Karah Yamauchi and I am the Social Emotional Support Specialist here at CCA. I bring a counseling background to this position having received my Master's Degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. In this role I work closely with students, parents, and teachers to ensure the social emotional well-being of our students here at CCA. This is done through teaching weekly Second Step lessons with our K-6 students in addition to providing one-on-one support, group work, small group counseling, classroom and teacher support, and collaborative problem solving with both prevention and intervention models to all students identified as needing such supports in grades K-8. I also co-lead CCA's Peer Helper program and have coached girls' basketball for the past several seasons. 

I believe that educating children is a team effort and look forward each school year to collaborating with parents and teachers in order to best support students.
