Cherry Creek Academy's Tech Class Creates Community

At Cherry Creek Academy, we believe in learning that goes beyond the classroom walls. Last school year, our kindergarteners and 8th graders partnered on a remarkable project, blending art, technology, and mentorship. Under the guidance of our incredible team—Technology Support Specialist Erika Ochoa, Gifted and Talented Teacher Carol Redmond, and Technology Teacher Sammy Wong—the students used SketchUp and 3D printers to turn simple drawings into treasured keepsakes.

This program was a powerful example of how hands-on learning builds essential skills. The 8th graders navigated the complexities of 3D modeling, problem-solving, and precise creation. For both groups, the project was a lesson in collaboration, showing them how technology can be a tool for connection and community.
