Bio

Hello!  My name is Eric Gaulden, and I am so excited to be a part of the CCA community!  I received an English degree from Truman State University in 2013.  I’ve been an educator since 2015, and I am certified in both Math and English instruction. Aside from teaching, I have experience as a writer and editor, working on projects of all kinds, from website copy to press releases to novels.  Writing is a passion of mine, and I love passing on that spark to my students!

Philosophy 

A classroom is a community first and foremost.  Students must understand that their teacher cares for them, listens to them, and appreciates them.  If students do not feel comfortable with their classmates and their instructor, we cannot expect them to push themselves outside of their comfort zone, and without moving outside of their comfort zone, students will not achieve what they are capable of achieving.  

I believe that all students are capable of high level thinking and writing, and that high expectations result in high quality work.
