Teaching Philosophy
Music is an important tool in preparing students for their futures. It is a staple in academics that stretches the cognitive function of the brain in both logic and creativity. Sharing music with students and forming a community is an important aspect of the class. Music is a tool to grow academically and personally. The music room should be a safe environment for students to ask for help and allow each to feel like a valued member of the group as a whole. Every student should receive a quality education in music to be prepared for their future. A music class is more than the notes on the page, it is students working together for success.
