Mrs. Glosup is originally from Washington state and has a Bachelors degree in Instrumental Music Education from Dordt College in Iowa. Before the move to CCA, she had been teaching high school and middle school band and music appreciation at a charter school in Colorado Springs. She has enjoyed the opportunity to work with the students and staff at Cherry Creek Academy, and is on the path to continue strengthening the music program at CCA. She is so excited to share her love of music, and hopes to help the students find their own passion for music.
Music is an important tool in preparing students for their futures. It is a staple in academics that stretches the cognitive function of the brain in both logic and creativity. Sharing music with students and forming a community is an important aspect of the class. Music is a tool to grow academically and personally. The music room should be a safe environment for students to ask for help and allow each to feel like a valued member of the group as a whole. Every student should receive a quality education in music to be prepared for their future. A music class is more than the notes on the page, it is students working together for success.
