Staff Profile
Kelley Goodwin
Biography
Hello parents of Cherry Creek Academy. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the community. My name is Kelley Goodwin, a Kindergarten teacher. I have nineteen years of teaching experience. I received my Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach. Due to my passion for education, I pursued a Master’s Degree of Education, from Grand Canyon University.
My family moved to Colorado in 2005, where I was able to stay home with my 3 daughters for 10 years. Teaching is my passion, so I returned to education. I love working with students and families, and look forward to sharing laughs, smiles along with hard work as we grow together this year.
I am starting my 10th year here at CCA!
Teaching Philosophy
After almost 20 years of teaching, I have found the following principles to be a constant in my teaching philosophy and therefore my classroom environment.
- Children as problem solvers-Children need to be taught and then allowed to practice academic, and behavioral problem-solving skills.
- Most children are eager and excited to meet the expectations put before them.
- Learning should be fun, sequential, and developmentally appropriate.
- Parent involvement is crucial to student success.
