Hello! I was born Denver, CO and am an alum of CCA. I received my Bachelors at the
University of Colorado - Boulder in Psychology and History with minors in Spanish, French,
and Philosophy. Afterwards, I earned my M.A. in Secondary Social Studies Curriculum &
Instruction. My first year of teaching was spent teaching sixth and eighth grade English. In
my free time I enjoy spending time with my two pets, going to concerts, growing my film
buff repertoire, and crushing the competition at trivia. I look forward to expanding my
‘teacher tool belt’ this year as I work with a handful of the brilliant educators who inspired
me to become a teacher myself, and get the privilege of learning with our community’s
second grade geniuses.
While teaching I prioritize modeling error and vulnerability for my students. I opt to
present myself as a knowledgeable individual who can make mistakes and is able to learn
from them. I hope that my efforts in modeling error helps my students put aside their
reservations towards interacting with the unknown. I wholeheartedly believe learning is
only possible in a space where students are safe and open towards sharing their new
realizations and findings with their peers. I welcome the opportunity to help my students
navigate social-emotional learning and lead with vulnerability.
