Biography

Hello! I am Maggie Hinken and I'm thrilled to be teaching here at Cherry Creek Academy. I'm originally from a northern suburb of Chicago. I attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where I received my degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I decided to stay in Omaha and teach 1st grade for 2 years. I have thoroughly made the move to Colorado and have loved every minute here at CCA! In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading and being with my friends and family. I am extremely eager for my third year being a teacher at CCA and my second in Kindergarten! 

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that all children want to learn and are capable of doing so. It's important to have a positive and safe classroom environment where students feel curious to try new things and understand how we learn from our mistakes. I strive to have a strong relationship and rapport with all students in order for them to do their best. I have high expectations and standards for my students that I know they can meet and will help them get there. I am passionate about making learning an exciting and engaging experience, where students are looking forward to coming to school. The partnership between families and educators is vital to a student's success. I'm looking forward to spending the year in Kindergarten and partnering with all families to make this year wonderful!
